what we do
Fundamentals Of Basketball was founded in 2011 with a simple mission: to use the game of basketball to teach the fundamentals of success on the court and in life.
Founded by LaTaunya Pollard, a former elite basketball player, our organization began by helping young athletes develop fundamental basketball skills, confidence, discipline, and a strong work ethic. Over the years, we have impacted more than 3,000 youth through skills training, camps, after-school programs, childcare partnerships, and personal development opportunities.
Today, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our vision has grown to beyond basketball. We are committed to empowering youth, families, and the community through programs that promote leadership, education, health, wellness, mentorship, and life skills. Basketball remains our foundation, but our purpose is to create opportunities that inspire individuals of all ages to reach their full potential.
Our long term goal is to establish a Sports Facility where children, youth, adults, and seniors can learn, grow, connect, and thrive through sports, enrichment programs, and meaningful community engagement.
At Fundamentals of Basketball, we don't just build better athletes—we build stronger people and stronger communities.
Let everything you do be done in love.
